The Lancaster School is thrilled to announce that Brody Scalese of Lancaster has been chosen as a 2025 ExCEL Award winner by the Minnesota State High School League selection committee. He is one of 36 students who will walk across the court at Williams Arena in Minneapolis on Saturday, March 15, at the Girls' State Basketball Tournament.
The ExCel award stands for Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership. The award is a unique recognition program designed exclu
sively for Minnesota high school juniors who are active in school activities, who show leadership qualities, and who work voluntarily in their community. In December, Brody Scalese and Hadley Nordin were nominated to represent the Lancaster School. A selection committee then chose Brody to be one of the 36 for the entire state.
Brody Scalese is the son of Jim and Alana Scalese. He is active in our basketball, football, and baseball programs. He received All Conference in football his junior year. He is an active member of our band, participating in honor band as well. He is an award winner in a successful knowledge bowl program, a member of the school Target Team, president of the junior class, vice president of the National Honor Society, and a volunteer for FCCLA. Brody is also a participant and leader in his youth group. He does all of this while keeping up with his academics and is currently one of the top students in his class.
This is a huge honor, and we are so proud of him.
